Sun Feb 28 19:07:05 PST 2010
This week the City of Davis has the unique opportunity of hosting a
delegation from Harrisonburg, VA which is coming to our town to learn about
our bicycle infrastructure and culture in order to promote bicycling in
their town. The delegation is made up of elected officials, city employees
and bicycle advocates.
The visitors will be arriving on 3 March late in the evening and will be
visiting with us Thursday 4 through Saturday 6 March.
*On Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 the Davis Bike Collective is hosting a
community potluck meal for the visitors at Bike 4th (at 4th and L Streets).*
You are welcome to come, meet the visitors, hear a bit about some
initiatives they are undertaking in Harrisonburg, and talk to them about
biking in Davis. This event is sponsored by the Bike Collective and Davis
Bicycles!
We would like to keep this event “trash free” so please bring your own plate
and utensils, a drink for yourself and a dish to share. Also a folding chair
if you have one. The evening will be pretty informal.
This is a great opportunity to talk about biking in Davis, encourage others
who want to help make their city more bike friendly and learn about some of
the challenges and opportunities they see. Hope to see you there. Feel free
to share this announcement with friends.
