[DB!-Announce] May Bike Movies @ Varsity: next Wed. + 5/20 + 5/26

Hi DB! Friends,

This is very important to DB! and the new Davis Bicycle Collective, and fun.
 Read on.

Please join DB!'s spring fundraiser by buying tickets for our showing of
three bike movies at the Varsity during bike month.  Starting this Wed.,
5/13, we'll re-show the *2008 DB! Film Festival*.  We had a great audience
in October at the Vet Center, but still only 200 saw it then.  This will be
the last showing until our new set of short films in the fall.  If you are
thinking of making a short film for us, definitely come see what we accepted
last year.  Then on Wed. 5/20 we'll show *Breaking Away*.  That needs no
introduction.  Come enjoy it with family and friends on the big screen.  If
you haven't seen Breaking Away in the last decade, you're due.  Then on
Tues. 5/26 we'll close with *Veer* <http://www.veerthemovie.com/>, an
acclaimed new indie movie on the explosion of bike culture in the US.  Don't
miss this! Check out the site.  The producer/cinematographer of Veer will
join us. Get an advanced ticket to make sure you don't miss this one Davis
showing.

DB! will use all proceeds from the Veer night to support the Davis Bicycle
Collective's move to their new digs at 4th and L from UC Davis, where we
came to love their work as the Bike Church.  Like DB!, this is a great
cause.  Collective members will give us an update on their work before we
show Veer!

All shows start at 6:30 pm.  We are selling a deeply discounted “tricycle”
ticket to all movies for $15.  About 200 of these package tickets are now on
sale at Apex, B&L, Freewheeler, Ken’s, Outdoor Davis, Rocknasium and the
Varsity box office.  *Please help us sell out the presale tricycle tix*.
 They are worth it.  And thank the stores selling them for us!  Individual
tickets will be available at the door for $6, $6 and $10. *Please buy more
tricycle tickets than you need and sell or give them to your friends. * Mothers
Day?  This is what you can do to support Davis Bicycles! and the Davis
Bicycle Collective.
