First of all, thanks to everyone who showed up at Marguerite
Montgomery this Wednesday for the City's first of four bike rodeos. I
understand it was a lot of fun. We still need more volunteers for the
remaining three bike rodeos. Please e-mail
chrystal2waters at yahoo.mail if you can help out and what you would like
to do.  We especially need volunteers for the bike check station;
Willett only has one and 3-5 are needed. Following is a list of
dates, locations, and volunteers who have already signed up.

Sept. 17 - Korematsu Elementary - Joe and Toni Egan, Steve Inness, Ty
Nowotny, Christal Waters
Sept. 24 - North Davis - Joe and Toni Egan, Steve Inness, Mont
Hubbard, Kerry Sortor, Bonnie Berman, Christal Waters
Oct. 1 - Willett - Joe and Toni Egan, Dan Fuchs, Steven Inness, Christal Waters

Below is the description of stations:

The check-in person collects the liability waiver forms from each
student and checks to make sure the student has a bike and helmet. No
student can participate without a liability waiver, bike or bike
helmet. The check-out person gives the student the participation
certificate and any freebie the school may have to offer.

Bike Check Station, 3-5 volunteers
The bike check people check to make sure the student has a helmet that
fits, and helps fit the helmet if needed. Also conducts safety check
of the bike: that the bike fits the student (seat height, reach,
etc.) the bicycle has working brakes, the handlebars are not loose,
etc. Volunteers should bring bike adjustment tools.

Skills Course, 2 volunteers
The skills course is run by Officer Gomez. Two volunteers are needed
to line students up and keep them in line.

Trivia Table, 2 volunteers
The volunteers provides and assists students with the bicycle quiz.
There will be a beginning and an advanced quiz for younger and older
students.

Rovers, 3 volunteers
The rovers do "communication", including carrying messages between
rodeo organizers/volunteers, keeping non-participating students out of
the rodeo area, and act as "go-fers".

 Christal
